I got up at 5am today to release a deer from the it's mortal coil, with my grandfather. So I walk over at 6 to eat/get ready, having completely forgotten about day light saving. Most of the time we aim to get to our hunting spot just before legal sunrise. This time however, we got there an hour late. My Grandfather was having a hell of a time turning the truck around because of mud, so I walked ahead. I walked about 300 yards and heard a branch snap in the bush ahead. So I took my safety off and raised the scope to my eye. About 100 yards ahead of me a decent sized doe walked out and looked at me. This being one of the last times I would get out for muzzle-loader season..I took the shot. I aimed high on the neck but being 300 feet away it gave the bullet the time it need to drop, hitting it right in the throat coming out around it's shoulder. The fucker dropped like a ton of bricks. So, having been there for around 6 minutes, we were done !! Gutted her, threw her on the truck and went home. Then hung and skinned her in the garage.
In other news, Rhapsody kicks fucking ass.

killing all these defenseless deer. I'm glad John could never get me hunting, despite his greatest efforts. You can buy meat in the store, who needs all that extra flesh. Not that I even eat meat anymore, anyways.
True, but hunting your own food is really a better choice to store bought foods. Animals like Deer and Rabbits are overpopulated for their biomes, thanks to our removal of the majority of their natural predators. So its not like hunting is going to be driving them to extinction anytime soon.
And really, I don't take annabolic steroids and vaccines for fun, so aside from lazyness and conveniance I don't see the advantage of paying allot for a little meat, and a fuckload of chemicals I'd never ingest on a regular basis.

well dur, I was giving the man a hardtime. I don't agree with hunting, but I don't really have anything to say if someone does so. It's their SIN!!!!! *ahem* I don't agree with the big multi-national meat corporations either. I never really looked at how that process goes down until I became a vegetarian, but I get sick to my stomach now knowing what happens in those commercial farms. So I simply choose an option that made sense. Me eat dead animals no more.
Think thats bad? Next week normal rifle season starts. My Grandfather, Dad and I all go out for that and almost every year each get one. Many more will die very soon !!!
Maybe if they didn't charge so much for meat or pump it full of steroids. I'd much rather eat something I killed then some factory farmed cow or something.

maybe you're factory farmed
Maybe I am. Whats it to you?
I don't like when MapleLeafMeats puts water in their meat so that it weighs more.
but thats not my point. My point is; dude! you gotta start clicking "reply to this". Yer comments are getting confusing to read :p
(I don't need to express my stance on guns 'n' meat, everyone basically knows how I go).
hahaha it is rather confusing isn't it?
heh, well a deleted comment got thrown in there but otherwise you're on the right track :P
